Walgreen's Dove Deal

I have been reading on several other money saving blogs about the Walgreen's Dove deal. If you purchase 8 bars of soap that are on sale for $0.99 you will get a $10 Register Reward. I can tell you that it DOES work! I just came from Walgreens where I purchased 6 bars of soap at $0.99 and 2 travel deodorants at $1.49/each (-$1.50/2 coupon). I also purchased 2 Dawn dishsoaps that were on sale for $0.99 and used two $0.50 off coupons. I spent less than $10.00 OOP and received a $10.00 Register Reward back! Making all the items FREE!

I would like to do this deal several times as Dove is the only bar soap we use at our house. I hope to roll the Register Rewards into the Huggie's Deal that is coming up on Sunday.

From what I have read on several forums, you will need to purchase $25.00 in select huggie's merchandise and you will receive a $10 Register Reward. Use the new Coupons.com printables that are $5.00 off and $3.00 for a great deal!

My scenario:

3 - Huggies Jumbo Packs @ $10.00 each (-$5.00, -$5.00, -$3.00) = $17.00
I will need a $3.00 filler and then I will use 2 of the $10 Dove Register Rewards making my diapees free!!! Can't beat that :)

Walgreens 3/3/09

I stopped at Wags to take advantage of the Johnson & Johnson deal going on this week. I am going to use most of them in a giftbasket for my sister's baby shower in April. If you buy $25.00 worth of J&J baby items you will get a $10 RR.

4 - J&J washes/lotions @ $3.74
2 - J&J vapor baths @ $5.24 (a little on the expensive side but this is fabulous stuff and Nicholas is sick)
1 - J&J powder @ 3.36
1 - J&J oil @ 3.59

= $32.39
- $2.00/2
- $2.00/2
-$3.00/3
-$1.00/1

= $24.39

I also picked up the following items in the same transaction:

1 - Nivea lip balm @ $2.99 (-$1.00 in ad coupon/$1.00 off Manufacturer's Coupon) = $0.99
1- packge of PEEPS (cause they look so yummy) @ $0.39 with in ad coupon.

I paid $29.14 out of pocket including tax and received $10 in RR back.

THEN I did this transaction.

3 - packs of paper plates (which we needed desperately) @ $0.99 with in ad coupon
2 - packs of puff tissue (again Nicholas is sick!) @ $0.99 with in ad coupon
2 - bags of jelly beans @ 2/$1.00 with in ad coupon
2- boxes of candy @ $1.00/each
1 - bag of Funyuns (to go with my sandwich for lunch) @ $1.29
2 - pacakges of peeps @ $0.39 with in ad coupon

My total came to $10.64. I used my $10 RR and ...
TOTAL OUT OF POCKET FOR TRANSACTION #2 = $0.64!

So All together I spent $29.78 for $67.00 worth of merchandise. Plus I have the paper plates and tissue that I need as well as a start on my baby shower gifts to my sister!

I did try to do the Ritz Cracker deal - they are 2/$1.99 and there is a $2.00 off 2 manufacturer's coupon but unfortunately even though the coupon says ANY - the cashier would not let me use it.

Well that's it for me today. I hope to hit up CVS later this week for the hershey bar sale because that is the favor for the baby shower and they are 2/$1.00!

My CVS Steals, Oops, I mean Deals

I hit the CVS by my work today to take advantage of some deals. I have not been doing much bargain shopping lately and am excited to be back in the game. I had $5.00 in ECBs to spend.

Transaction #1
2 Gillette Shampoos @$4.99 each (FEB ECB DEAL - get $3.00 ECBs)
I used a $1.00/1 Q and a $2.00/1 Q
And my $5.00 in ECBs.

I paid $2.49 out of pocket and received $6.00 back in ECBs. Not bad for the shampoo my husband likes.

Transaction #2

3 - Suave Body Washes @ $2.00 each (Buy $6.00 get $2.00 in ECBs)
2 - boxes of candy on sale for $1.00 each (I need something to get me through the afternoon here at work)
Used $1/1 Q and a $0.50/1 Q on the Suave
And my $6.00 in ECBs.

I paid $0.51 OOP and received $2.00 back in ECBs along with a CRT FOR $3.00 off ANY shampoo and conditioner along with a bunch of other CRTS.

Transaction #3
2- Herbal Essences (bought the new hydralicious line which smells awesome)
1 - bag of RoldGold pretzels for the Bingo Fundraiser on Sunday
Used $3.00/2 Herbal Essence Q and the $3.00/2 CVS CRT coupon
And my $2.00 in ECBs from above

My OOP was $1.04 and I got $2.00 back in ECBs.

So for $26.85 in merchandise I spent $4.04 out of pocket and I have $2.00 left to spend! Not bad. My sister asked me today how I get away with "robbing" CVS. And asked if I could show her.

I was upset that I couldn't do the neutrogena deal that everyone has been blogging about. This CVS was all out of the bars of soap. I may stop off at a CVS on my way and try there. I have $2.00 in ECBs burning a whole in my pocket.

This is how it would go:

2 Neutrogena soap bars $2.99/each = $5.98 - $2.00 = $3.98 plus tax out of pocket and get back $10 in ECBs!! What a great money maker!

Walgreens 1/18/09

I was hungry and craving a cheeseburger from Wendy's this afternoon. So on my way I stopped at walgreens. I did the Unilever deal.

4 Ragu pasta sauces @ $1.99 each (used $0.50 off 2 and a $0.75 off 2 coupons)
2 Jiffy peanut butters @ $1.99 each (used a $0.75 off 2 coupon)
2 Dove Hair care products @ 2/$7.00 (had 2 $1.50 off Dove haircare coupons)

I spent $14.something (I can't find my receipt) out of pocket and received a $10 register reward back.

I went through the line again and got

1 package of bounty on sale for $6.99 ($0.25 off coupon)
2 packages of Dixie napkins @ $1.99 ($1.00 off coupon in today's paper x 2)
2 packages of Dixie paper plates on sale for $1.99 each ($1.00 off coupon x 2)

I used my $10 register reward to pay for it and spent $1.75 out of pocket. I believe the bounty was 6 rolls. So all in all not a bad day. I am good on pasta sauce and peanut butter for a while!

Hopefully I can get the little monster down for a nap so I can hit Jewel and CVS later! HOpe you are having a GREAT sunday!

Swagbucks

If you haven't heard of Swagbucks my suggestion is you go here and sign up. What is swagbucks? It is a search engine. Works pretty much the same as google except that everytime you search for something you can earn "swagbucks" or points. You can trade these swagbucks in for giftcards. I joined a few weeks ago and just traded my swagbucks in for a Target gift card. They also had Barnes & Noble, Macy's and Starbucks that I can remember off the top of my head. Pretty cool concept for something we do every single day! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a comment.

Super Sunday Savings Spree!

Hi everyone! Happy New Year. So one of my new years resolutions is to get out of credit card debit this year and start saving more money.

I started couponing last year and now I am going to become more serious about it. I hope to use this blog as an opportunity to share deals with you and also keep track of my savings/earnings.

Today was an awesome day for me. That's why I'm calling it the Super Sunday Savings Spree.
It started out at Walgreens.

I had 2 items that I needed to return which gave me about $20 back in cash. I also had $10 in my wallet. So $30 total which I was going to use for both Walgreens and CVS. This is how I did.

Walgreens:

4 Fructis items @ $2.99 [-$2.00 ESQ and $1.00 MQ = -$0.04]
Electrasol Geltabs @3.49 [-$2.50 MQ and $1.50 ESR = -$0.51 after rebate]
1 Sunday paper

My total OOP was $4.02! Not bad. Plus I will get back $1.50!

At CVS I did 3 transactions.

CVS #1:
4 Colgate toothpastes @ 2/$5.00 [-$1.50 PQ/Get $4.00 in ECBs]
1 Pamolive Dish Soap @ $0.97 [-$0.25 MQ]
1 Cottonelle 20 pack @ $12.97 [-$1.00 MQ/Get $4.00 in ECBs]
1 Ziploc Baggie Twic pack @$5.99 [-$1.00 MQ/Get $2.00 in ECBs]

I also used a $5.00 off $25.00 that came in my email for this weekend only. $2.50 in ECBS for fall spending and $5.00 in ECBs that I had from a previous purchase.

My total was $10.62 and I got back $10.00 in ECBS!

CVS #2
2 Infant's Motrin @ 2/$11.00 [-$2.50 MQ]
1 package of Bandaids @ $3.00
1 Tylenol Cold @ $6.00 [-$1.00 MQ]
1 Freedom Lite Monitor @ $9.99 [-$9.99 MQ]

I also used a $5/$25.00 coupon, $2.00 off pain reliever CVS coupon, and my $10.00 in ECBs from above.

My total ended up $0.27 negative so I threw in a package of tic tacs @ $0.99 and my total came to $0.73. I got $10 in ECBS for the motrin/band aids/tylenol.

CVS #3

3 packs of pepsi @ 3/$10.00 [-$1.00 MQ]
1 Johnson & Johnson's baby wash @ $2.99 [-$1.00 MQ]

I used my $10 ECB from transaction #2 and spent $1.24 OOP.

So in total I only spent a little over $16.00 OOP at Walgreens and CVS!

Now, if you have a Jewel near you -- they have a great deal going on. Buy $30 worth of participating merchandise and receive $15.00 on your next order.

I did 3 transactions at Jewel today.

#1:
8 Roll pack of Bounty $10.00 (-$0.25)
Trix @ $2.00 (-$1.00)
2 - Yoplait Kids @ $2.50/each (-$1.50/each)
2- Cheerios @ $2.00/each (-$1.00)
2 - Betty Crocker Brownie Mix @ $1.67 (-$1.00)
2- Patene Products @ $3.33/each (-$3.00)

My total OOP: $23.39 and I received $15.00 back

#2
3 packages of Pampers @ $10.00 (-$4.00 in coupons)

I used my $15.00 from transaction #1 to pay for the diapers and spent $13.48 out of pocket. Which is not bad for 3 packages of size 5 pampers! I also received back the $15.00 in coupons and an extra $5.00 good on your next baby product purchase.

#3
2 Packages of prepackaged salad @ 2/$5.00 (they were also running a special on these that if you buy 2 you get up to 2 lbs of Bananas free so I got 2 lbs exactly!)
1 package of baby carrots @ 1.50
1 Green Peper @ $0.77
1 cucumber @ $0.79
1 Johnson's Baby Vapor Bath (to use the $5.00 coupon good on next baby purchase) @ $5.49 (-$1.00 MQ)
1 Package of Jewel Croutons @ $1.00

I used the $5.00 baby coupon and a $5.00 jewel coupon and paid $4.03 OOP. I have $10.00 left to roll sometime this week when they get the Downy back in stock! I am going to be taking advantage of this offer as much as possible. It is good until 1/18!!

The great news too is I can use the products from Jewel transaction #1 and #2 to fufill my $50 requirement to get the $120 worth of Proctor and Gamble coupons. I already filled out my form and will be sending that in tomorrow morning!

Not a bad shopping day! Hope you all had a great Super Sunday!

I <3 CVS!

CVS is my most favorite store EVER. Especially after today. I had the $15.00 from the Duracell deal that I did on Monday. It's been burning a hole through my purse. So I figured what the heck with Christmas fast approaching I'm going to need lots of batteries for Nicholas' toys. I took a walk over to CVS again at lunch today. Just thinking I would do the Duracell deal again and roll my ECBs for some cheap batteries. Well I scanned my card under the little scanner and out pops a $10 off of $50 coupon! WOOOOOHOOO! Well I have NO PLAN and am a little concerned but it all worked out well.

Most of the glade was gone but I scored 2 apple cinnamon candles (yum) and 2 window scent thingees. Then I knew Revlon was Buy 1 Get 1 Free and I knew I had coupons for Revlon. So I got 2 nailpolishes. I then saw the Vaseline lotion was on sale for $5.99 and you get back $2.00 in ECBs. So I grabbed one of those for my desk (my hands are so dry this time of year). I also bought a bottle of hand sanitizer which was on sale for $3.99 with $2.00 ECBs back. I then needed a small filler item about $2.00. So I noticed that 8 pks of certain candies were on sale. The Reeses and Kitkats were calling my name. My total before everything was over $61.00. After coupons and the $15.00 ECB from the first duracell deal, I paid $22.00.

I know what you are thinking. $22.00 WHOA that is alot. But not really considereding that the batteries alone 4 X $5.99 = $23.96.

And the fact that I got $24.00 back in ECBS!!!!!!!!!!!! This is by far one of my most exciting trips. I need pretty much everything and it included 4 packs of batteries! WOW!

So yes, I <3>
